Main Features of PA6T

PA6T stands out as a premier high-temperature polyamide with a unique set of properties ideal for demanding engineering applications. 1. Excellent Solder Reflow Resistance: With a very high melting point (~310°C) and Heat Distortion Temperature (HDT around 290°C), PA6T can easily withstand the extreme temperatures of lead-free solder reflow processes, making it the material of choice for surface-mount technology (SMT) electronic connectors and components. 2. Superior High-Temperature Rigidity: It maintains a high percentage of its room-temperature modulus at elevated temperatures, ensuring dimensional stability and reliable performance under thermal stress. 3. Outstanding Chemical Resistance: PA6T demonstrates robust resistance to a wide range of automotive fluids, industrial chemicals, and solvents, ensuring long-term part integrity. 4. Very Low Water Absorption: Its moisture uptake is significantly lower than standard nylons like PA66 (approximately 1/4 to 1/3), minimizing the plasticization effect and resulting property variations that plague other polyamides in humid environments. 5. Exceptional Dimensional Stability: The combination of low water absorption, a low and linear coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and minimal molding warpage grants PA6T outstanding dimensional precision, critical for tight-tolerance components in electronics and automotive sectors. 6. Excellent Melt Flowability: Despite its high melting point, PA6T exhibits good flow characteristics during injection molding, enabling the filling of thin walls and intricate part geometries. 7. Low Molding Flash Tendency: It inherits a favorable characteristic of polyamides by being less prone to forming burrs or flash during injection molding, which reduces post-processing needs and improves part quality.
