Characteristics of Anti-Ultraviolet PC (Polycarbonate)

Anti-UV coated Polycarbonate (PC) sheet is a high-performance material offering a multitude of benefits: Optical & Durability: It provides exceptional light transmittance up to 89%, rivaling glass, with superior long-term UV stability that minimizes yellowing and haze. Its most renowned feature is incredible impact resistance—250-300 times stronger than standard glass and significantly stronger than acrylic. UV Protection & Safety: A dedicated UV-blocking coating on one surface effectively filters harmful ultraviolet rays, protecting interior contents, while an optional anti-condensation coating on the other side prevents dripping. It is inherently flame retardant (typically UL94 V-2 or better), self-extinguishing, and produces low smoke and toxicity when exposed to flame. Design & Practicality: PC is very lightweight (about half the density of glass), simplifying handling, transport, and structural support. It can be cold-bent on-site for arched or curved structures and offers excellent thermal insulation (lower K-value than glass), contributing to energy savings. Environmental Performance: It maintains remarkable properties across a wide temperature range (-40°C to 120°C), exhibits good long-term weatherability, and provides effective sound insulation, making it a preferred material for noise barriers and architectural glazing where safety, durability, and clarity are paramount.
