In both cases, the drying time should be a minimum of 4 hours but must not exceed 10 hours to prevent thermal degradation. A practical method to judge sufficient drying is the air extrusion technique, where a visually moist-free extrudate indicates proper dryness. Regarding material sustainability, the use of recycled PC content is feasible. A use ratio of up to 20% recycled material is common, and for some non-critical applications, 100% recycled content can be utilized, with the actual amount dependent on the product’s quality requirements. A critical note is that different masterbatches or recycled materials should not be mixed indiscriminately, as this can severely compromise the properties of the finished product.
