Aging of nylon

PA6, PA66 with lightweight, high ductility, electrical insulation properties and excellent thermal insulation properties and other advantages, widely used in the electronics industry, such as household appliances machinery and equipment or pneumatic tools housing, household appliances with auto-tuning parts, equipment housings, engine foliage and so on.

However, as the basic raw materials for electronic components, the provisions of its application in a certain period of time, not only the structure of mechanical compressive strength to maintain a good, and the need to go through the aging of the product’s appearance and colour tone can not change a lot, especially some of the appearance of the strict provisions of the light-coloured nylon products, otherwise it may reduce the performance of the electronic equipment, the hazards of the regular application of the components.

PA6, PA66 materials used as electronic materials for room applications in specific applications will be encountered in some of the higher temperature conditions, so the function of long-term heat is one of the main elements of PA6, PA66 aging; in specific application conditions and circumstances, the vast majority of the situation can be aerobic movement to participate in the aging of polyester the whole process of the same effect of heat and oxygen will greatly accelerate its aging process. Therefore, PA6, PA66 anti-aging countermeasures is very necessary.

Reinforced nylon anti-aging methods

It has been found that the addition of antioxidants and blend modification materials can improve the high-temperature aging resistance of PA materials and greatly broaden the service life of the materials.

Commonly, reinforced nylon has thermo-oxidative thickeners, including copper thickeners, amine and hindered phenol antioxidants, hydrochloroprene solvents and so on.

According to some data and information details and many tests, different antioxidant system software to slow down the aging effect is as follows: copper salt antioxidant > 1098 + 626 antioxidant system software > 1098 antioxidant system software > 1010 + 626 antioxidant system software. Carbon black has a better light stabilizer, so grey and black reinforced nylon materials are more resistant to aging than other colourful reinforced nylon.

It has long been found that POE-g-MAH elastomer materials in modified PA6 management system can resist heat aging at a certain level. The pairing of antioxidant 1098 and phosphite antioxidant 626 has a synergistic effect in PA6 system software.

Copper salt antioxidant and antioxidant 1098 and complex antioxidants are all highly efficient antioxidants for PA6 epoxy resin management system. Copper salt antioxidant has more significant heat aging practical effect on modified PA6 management system. The antioxidant 1010 blended management system for PA6 epoxy resin has insufficient heat aging practical effect. Enhanced nylon with copper salt antioxidant and 1098 compound antioxidant modified PA6 material, can achieve the material of caustic aging regulations.
